New Research Project to commence: Evaluating the impact of game-based learning on university students' skills development
An international Research collaboration between Simbound and Australian University, Kuwait under a research project funded by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) is launched.

Introduction
Evaluating the impact of game-based learning on university students' skills development - a cross-cultural analysis is an international research project in which the Simbound simulation is deployed and which seeks to develop an initial set of benchmarks for student skill acquisition and to compare these benchmarks with control groups undergoing standard didactic experiences.
Main Researchers Perspective
Dr. Vladimir Simovic, Associate Professor with the Scientific Research Center at the Australian University, Kuwait and Main Investigator for the Project
This project, funded by Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) will utilize the experimental approach to provide the first empirical evidence for Kuwait of the impact of game-based learning on students’ academic performance, digital skills development and motivation in the area of Digital marketing using the game simulation Simbound. No such data exists for Kuwait up to date.
Besides in Kuwait, the research will simultaneously be conducted in universities in Australia, Turkey and Serbia. The research results will provide a cross- cultural perspective on the impact of game-based learning on the university students' academic achievements, digital skills development and motivation - the first of its kind in the academic literature. Also, by conducting benchmark analysis with other countries participating in this research, the research community and policy makers in Kuwait will have the chance to better understand country-specific factors underlying the academic performance, digital skills development and motivation of university students participating in game-based learning environments
This project will also raise an awareness within the general community in Kuwait on the potential of the game-based approach in all levels of education, with the focus on university education
