Once the auction closes, we’ll email everyone with their results—and soon after the next month’s auction opens automatically!
The #1 bid is 27% above #2, so it takes its full request of 40 licenses. The bidders below it sit within a few cents of each other, so the remaining 35 are shared out close to proportionally — never giving a lower bid a better deal than the bid above it. The pool is fully allocated in this example.

What governs this month's auction
Key Terms and Conditions for Bidding on Simbound Software Licenses.
- Minimum bid — €10.00 per License.
- Auction period — 1 calendar month. Opens on the 1st, closes last day at 23:59 UTC.
- Bid size — minimum of 10 Licenses up to a Maximum of 50 Licenses per bid allowed.
- Validation — a bid is registered only after the entry fee is paid.
- Results — every bidder is emailed once the auction closes. Each winners gets a payment link and invoice for won Licenses only.
- Total Price paid — Winners pay their own bid × the Number of Licenses allocated following the auction results.
- Entry fee — €5.00, one-time per bidder per month. Non-refundable.
- Pool size — Simbound sets an available pool of about 40–100 Licenses each month.
- Bids per person — up to 2 bids allowed on each email/month; Only the highest confirmed bid is ranked. Second bid cannot be lower than the first.
- Payment for Second Bid — You do not need to pay for the Second Bid, only the €5.00 entry fee is taken when your first bid is submitted.

How many times can I bid inside each auction?
During the monthly auction you can bid for a maximum of 2 times. The second bid must have a higher value than that of the first bid.
Can I participate in two or more consecutive auctions?
Yes. Currently, there is no limit to the number of auctions you can submit bids for.
What if I win fewer licenses than I asked for?
You pay only for the Licenses you actually receive, at your own bid price. Allocations never go below 5 Licenses. You can always buy more Licenses using the regular purchase form which is made available to all of the registered instructors.
How long are the won Licenses valid for?
Licenses won through the auction are valid for 6 months from the date you're confirmed as a winner. Unused Licenses expire automatically at the end of that period and can't be renewed.
Can I use both existing Licenses I hold together with any new Licenses won through the auction?
Yes, existing Licenses can be used alongside Licenses won through the auction. Please keep track of the expiration date of each batch.
Why do I have to confirm by email?
A bid only becomes active after you click the confirmation link we email you and you pay the entry fee. That keeps the board free of false bids and makes sure we can reach you with the result at the end of the auction.
Can I submit bids using multiple emails?
No, you must use the same email address at all times.
I already have a Simbound account — do I need a new one?
No. If the email you bid with already is tied to a Simbound account, the bid is attached to that account automatically. If not, the confirmation email lets you open a new instructor account so any Licenses you win can be delivered instantly.
Are other bidders able to see who I am?
No. The live board shows only an anonymous reference, the bid per License, the number of Licenses requested and a time stamp. Your email is never displayed or used in any other way except to contact you with the results of the auction.
What happens if a winner doesn't pay in time?
Winners have 10 calendar days from when the auction closes to complete payment via Stripe. If payment isn't completed within that window, the unpaid Licenses are released and offered to the next bidder in line, following the same initial allocation formula.
