Creating a truly engaging simulation in 4 easy steps
Learn how to create an engaging simulation in four easy steps with Simbound. Start small, set clear objectives, and guide students through digital marketing strategies step by step for a successful learning experience.
“Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can”
We are aware that sometimes students can feel a little bit confused when they start using the Simbound simulation. As an instructor, you can help your students by setting up the course to have less content for each round.
If you don't know how to create a course yet, go and watch this tutorial and then come back to this article.
So how do you construct an easy initial experience in the simulation and why is this important?
Just like a real digital marketing campaign, a simulation can seem too complicated if you don't take it one step at a time. For an efficient workflow, you need not only a strategy for the campaign, but also a strategy for its implementation.
Here is how to get started:
Set specific objectives for each round. Limit the number of sections that students have access to in the application to just a few for each round. This way students won't be tempted to try everything at once.
Our suggestion is to start small. The first two rounds of the simulation are for practice. Start with the website only. It's where students can come up with a lot of creative ideas and there are many aspects to focus on when building a website.
After creating the desired brand and selecting the products, students can work on the titles, descriptions and landing pages.
Once the website is built, the next step is to create the ads. So that's where the students can start exploring more. Remember, small steps lead to big results.
The Paid Advertising section is quite complex in itself, so it's best for learners to take the time to explore it and find out how it really works, without being distracted by other features. This is where keywords come into play, and using them correctly is crucial to a successful campaign.
The next step after learning all about ads and keywords is to create E-mail marketing campaigns. This is where the website and keywords are put into practice. Students can use a recommended template with one of their website pages or create their own email campaign from scratch. Marketing campaigns require good copywriting and good use of keywords, so it's likely to be a nice challenge. Here students can practise all about CTAs and strategies to get the customer interested.
Finally, the last step is what we call Simbound's social media management, which is community management.
Knowing how to properly manage a brand's community is crucial to any marketing campaign. Maintaining a good relationship with customers and adding value to their lives is key to building trust in your brand and products.
The simulation offers 6 types of communities so that participants can choose what's best for their virtual business.
Let's review.
